Heat shrink film is a type of packaging that can be firmly and tightly attached to a product. It can be made from different materials, such as polyolefin, PVC, and PE shrink film. Shrink film is available in different packaging forms, and the common ones are centerfold, single-wound, and shrink tube.
What is the difference between them?
Centerfold shrink film:
If you have a 20-inch roll of centerfold shrink film, the actual width is 40 inches when you lay it flat.
Centerfold shrink wrap comes in a wide variety of sizes, mainly width and thickness, as well as overall length. You can choose from two materials for folded shrink wrap: polyolefin shrink film and PVC shrink film. Folded shrink film is folded longitudinally from the center of the film to form a “V” shape, which, when folded together, becomes an “I” shape. The product can be inserted directly into the package, and the shrinking can be easily accomplished.
Shrink and seal method:
To shrink and seal the folded shrink film, an L-shaped sealer and a bundling machine must be used together. For the L-shaped sealer, please choose a model with a longer diameter, as you may one day use a wider width of shrink rolls.
Single wound shrink film
Single-wound wrap is a shrink film made of one layer of film wrapped in a single flat layer. Generally speaking, single-wound wrap is more suitable for hand molding and sealing. Single-wound shrink film is also more suitable for sealing with a tell-tale shrink machine and is more suitable for tell-tale work than folded shrink film rolls.
Shrink and Seal Methods:
A single-wound wrap can be shrunk using a high-speed shrink machine or a heat gun.
Shrink tubing
A shrink tube is a type of shrink film that is available in various sizes and looks like a “round tube.” It is continuous and can be used to wrap long cylindrical products. Shrink tubes are cut to the desired length of the product (note: allow for longer lengths before cutting).
Shrink tubes are generally used to package bottled beverages and food products. They protect the product from tampering and ensure that the customer receives an untampered product.
Shrink and Seal the way:
Shrink tubing generally only needs to be sealed on one side; the other side is not typically sealed.
